About the Job
We are seeking an energetic, customer-focused Auto Repair Shop Service Writer / Advisor to join our team in Glendale, AZ. As the primary point of contact between our customers and our automotive technicians, you will play a crucial role in delivering an exceptional service experience, translating technical issues into clear solutions, and maximizing shop productivity.

Responsibilities: 
  • Customer Concierge: Greet customers warmly, listen to their automotive concerns, and accurately document vehicle symptoms and service requests.
  • Service Advisory & Sales: Translate technician diagnostics into clear, easy-to-understand explanations for customers. Present repair recommendations, provide accurate cost estimates, and confidently close service sales.
  • Workflow Coordination: Act as the liaison between customers and automotive technicians. Prioritize and schedule repair orders to maximize shop efficiency and meet promised delivery times.
  • Parts Management: Coordinate with parts departments or vendors to source and order necessary components for scheduled repairs.
  • Relationship Building: Build long-term trust with clients by providing transparent updates throughout the repair process and conducting post-service follow-ups.
  • Administrative Accuracy: Maintain detailed, accurate records of all customer interactions, estimates, and repair orders within the shop management software.

Requirements: 
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience as an Automotive Service Writer, Service Advisor, or Assistant Service Manager.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.
  • Sales Aptitude: Proven ability to build value in repair recommendations and meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Technical Familiarity: A solid foundational understanding of automotive systems, components, and routine maintenance schedules.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience utilizing automotive shop management software (e.g., Shop-Ware, RO Writer, Mitchell1, AllData) is highly preferred.
  • Traits: Strong multitasking abilities, high emotional intelligence, and a professional, positive attitude under pressure.
  • License: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Benefits & Compensation: 
  • Salary Range: $52,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year (Base + Performance-Based Incentives).
